^{Happy Sunday, and welcome behind the backbar, where we end the week with a quote regarding wine and spirits. Some quotes and authors are better known than others, but all shed light on the attitudes this liquid inspires.}

“Here’s to alcohol, the rose colored glasses of life.”

F. Scott Fitzgerald

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald might be best know for The Great Gatsby, but he also wrote a number of essays, short stories, and other novels. This includes the short story collection Tales of the Jazz Age, which is credited as the first mention of the 1920’s as the “Jazz Age”, as well as The Beautiful and Damned, where this quote comes from.
