Here, you shake it
Taking a very different approach from Donn Beach who tried to hide his recipes, Henry Charles Ramos was giving his most prized recipe away.

Well, he did. His signature creation, the Ramos Gin Fizz, requires a lot of shaking due to the heavy cream. Recipes can call for anywhere from 3 minutes all the way up to 10 minutes, which is a long time considering most recipes only require 30 seconds or so. When the drink was at it’s most popular, his bar in New Orleans, would have up to 35 dedicated shakers behind the bar to keep up with demand.
Even still, with all the work required for this drink to develop its signature frothy top, Charles had no problem giving away his recipe to anyone who was willing to take some of the shaking off his hands.
